Lisa Graybill, JD
Interim Executive & Senior Legal Advisor

Lisa Graybill has served in several prominent executive legal advocacy roles across the progressive movement and offers partnership and senior advising through GDSI's community of practice of consultants on leadership strategy, role design, and network development.  Most recently, Lisa was the National Immigration Law Center's Vice President for Law and Policy where she oversaw strategy and execution of NILC's litigation and policy work. She joined NILC in 2020 after having served as a deputy legal director at the Southern Poverty Law Center and, previously, as the legal director of the ACLU of Texas and a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division. Lisa also taught at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, focusing on civil rights and immigration issues. She is a graduate of Smith College and the University of Texas School of Law. Raised in San Antonio and based in Austin, Texas, Lisa speaks English and Spanish and curses vigorously in both languages.

She loves her friends and family in equal measure, shamelessly spoils her cats, and feels most at home in the borderlands.
