Dan Dobin
Strategy & Operations Consultant
Fractional COO/Chief of Staff

Dan Dobin is a nonprofit strategist and fractional executive committed to increasing equity, access, and opportunity. He helps mission-driven organizations bridge the gap between bold strategy and effective execution. With 20 years of experience spanning management consulting, senior operations leadership, external relations, and growth strategy, Dan partners with organizations at pivotal moments – seeking opportunities to integrate himself in clients’ work and build the cross-functional capabilities needed to meet ambitious goals.

CEOs of some of the country’s fastest growing nonprofits have entrusted Dan to lead some of their most complex and mission-critical work. Most recently, Dan served as a founding operations leader for GovAct, a start-up nonpartisan initiative that helps governors work together to protect fundamental freedoms. Prior to GovAct, Dan helped launch Upstream USA’s state-wide effort in Massachusetts and eventually led an 18-person growth strategy team. Under his leadership, Upstream more than doubled its reach through effective go-to-market strategies, successful lead generation and partnership development, and the use of policy levers and government relationships to generate demand. Dan has also served as Chief of Staff at BellXcel and as a management consultant at the Bridgespan Group. He holds a BA from Emory University and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.
